Indeed, though if it’d been a more northern nation Raven is interesting also. Mind, just my opinion but ol’ coyote was more likely to bail you out if the joke went bad. maybe, if you were a cub.
… and THAT would be the point: o If he IS Coyote, how does the Truth of Anything matter. o If he is NOT, how is there any way of knowing that he ISN’T one of Coyote’s tricks. [Would HE even know?]
Coyote’s truths always matter, and Coyote’s forever getting himself snared up in his own tricks. I’m hearing his laughter on the breeze, as he chases after the one girl he cannot have again.
Coyote is a powerful god like being/trickster in many Native American tribes folk lore traditions. In some he brought fire to the people among other acts. Within this comic I don’t think we’ve met anyone named Coyote. So, we’re just assuming it’s the Native American Coyote.
Also, I get the overwhelming impression, [as clearly Hunter did] that “Stone Hears Nothing” is, at best, an unfortunate Naming Quest, and, more likely, a Grave INSULT.
*GASP!* ?Coyote! β.β
“You’re not from the Sun-Touched nation”
“Darlin’, the sun may not have touched me, but I can touch like the sun…”
NO WAY!
Really Hunter?? is this another guise, or disguise?? we wanna know NOW!
love the fire on the fingers, and ALL these expressions!
I love the font change indicating speaking in Sun. Clever.
Nice shades of Tolkein: “And you do know my name,
though you donβt remember that I belong to it.” – Gandalf to Bilbo, while blowing smoke rings.
Hunter is really Coyote?? Well, that would explain a lot. If itβs true.

Nice nasal, chin, arm, and hand similarities from the artist.
Coyote. That’s normally not good, but if in prison awaitin’ a death sentence …
I’m confused, have we met someone called Coyote? A lot of comments sound like we have.

Ah, thank you!
On the other hand, claiming to be Coyote is a nice trick, and it’s very hard to disprove.
OMG THIS IS THE GUNNERKRIGG CROSSOVER I’VE BEEN WAITING ON FOREVER π
That’s a perfect sample page for GK’s Coyote π
Haaaa I was just thinking that.
Grammar quirk – second to last panel Hunter says “Oh, c’mon on now”, shouldn’t it be just “Oh, c’mon now”? He’s saying Oh come on on now lol
No, you’re right. It was a typo I missed, so thanks for the catch! It’s fixed now.
Priceless! π

So, at the conclusion of this webcomic, Hunter goes to the forest and gets *REDACTED* by Ysengrin? O.O
Or Loup.
