Never assume you can bull your way through a warning without consequences either. Love the clothing on the native inhabitant, it’s very effective in motion!
all of the characters in the comic have stylized proportions but the only time you take issue with that is when it’s a woman with a muscular build, huh?
Or maybe I’m reaching for something you’ve never bothered to look out for.
Last page he commented “this is just silly”. The main thing in that page was the fact that this woman first showed off her guns, so to speak. And that counts as silly in a comic featuring magic, cyborg horses and undead gunslingers?
Regardless, the only person who can really answer here is Mr. Oolong so why not let him answer my question himself?
Her build isn’t really that odd. Look at pro wrestling for plenty of examples. While Chyna probably used steroids, Beth Phoenix didn’t, Dana Brooke doesn’t, Charlotte Flair doesn’t (in fact, she’s built almost exactly like the character if you exaggerated for art), if Nia Jax were ripped she’d have the same build, hell even Stephanie McMahon has a similar build. JHH has a back that covers three timezones, but a woman with a not at all unrealistic build is strange?
That is a mighty fine knife. I find myself wondering if it is turquoise inlay in the handle, or perhaps some karketolite from Broken Sky whose brilliance is muted by the winter light?
I dated a female bodybuilder for two years and have always appreciated athletically built women and i find it refreshing to see a woman depicted with muscle in a comic!
My former girlfriend and I keep in touch now and then, i tell folks she never broke my heart but did break two ribs once.
So, she commits murder over watering cattle. Sure doesn’t say anything good.
With a WWII or later Ka-Bar knife, no less.
As an aside, in the U.S., there are two types of Tribes.
The first type are those treaty tribes created illegally by Congress (there’s no authority given to the Federal Government by the U.S. Constitution to have such treaties, in addition to clauses like those in the Louisiana Purchase that made all persons living in the Purchase a U.S. Citizen). They are generally considered “sovereign” but are still under the direct control of the U.S. Government.
The second type are administratively-created tribes, which is where Congress creates a tribe or unit of a tribe, such as all tribes in California. These are legally under the control of both the U.S. Government and to a lesser extent the state they are in. They are not sovereign, although many try to claim it.
PS, the comic doesn’t mention tribes, but even so Erin has said about a billion times this is a work of high fantasy and not the historic United States.
PPS. Knives existed before WW2. In fact the Bowie knife is defitionitional for the 19th century. But NTO frontier will never have a WW2. Or maybe had it already. Because like the About page says, not the American West
Love this new lady, love how this little confrontation ended. One thing bothers me though: she threw from behind and below him to his left (guessing from his 7 o’ clock), but the knife connects going downward into the neck / shoulder joint on his right? Telekinetic guided knife, perhaps?
I think the bearded man turned his horse around to try to get a better shot at her? Otherwise, yeah, it seems a bit hard to see how the knife ends up on his right.
Ah, no, he didn’t…? At least, I don’t think so: I’m not 100% certain, but I checked the background panel he’s in here to the previous page’s background and they seem to match, so it looks like he was given too little time and too much surprise to turn.

I couldn’t agree more
My thoughts exactly. Can’t wait for her to meet our dynamic duo.
Never bring a gun to a knife fight
This is totes still a gun fight. Heyooooo.
Never assume you can bull your way through a warning without consequences either.

Thanks so much, Karyl!
Great page!
Much obliged, Alan. <3
Gotta wonder if all the people in her tribe look like this, or if her exaggerated size is the tragic result of ongoing steroid abuse…

Interesting.
I think you’re reaching for something that isn’t there.

I appreciate such a different looking character tbh
I see you dudes. I see you.
I’m afraid you’re waving your flag at the wrong person.
Guess you never appreciated Chun-li, either. I, for one, welcome our new muscled overlady. Long may she reign.

Feel bad for beard dude. He realized this was a bad idea just a leeeetle too late.
No, he knew it was a bad idea from the start. He just thought thought they wouldn’t get caught…
He just didn’t tell his hot-headed young companion.

A 1219C2 Ka-bar combat knife with decorative additions. They have been manufactured since 1942 for Army and Marine Corps.

Gah, “Definitional” not sure what happened there
