Another wonderful page. I wonder if there’s anything in the fort that can give Vane a fair fight? I normally have a healthy respect for cannons, but I don’t think that one would get the job done.
I don’t know, seems like there’s a page missing. Also, is that a powder house that are two adversaries have there backs to? I’m seeing a Bugs Bunny cartoon scene here. (Hillbilly Hare). Look out commander, I believe the fireworks are about to begin.
Actually fighting an undead revenant who is trapped within its original body and is limited to only slightly superhuman feats of strength and agility is not big of a deal. Blood loss and organ failure are not points of failure for her, however not being alive she can’t repair herself. Anything that compromises her structural integrity will at the very least begin a cumulative effect systems failure. Things that break bone and tear muscle like shotguns, grenades and large caliber pistols will “mission kill” her. If they can get her in front of a Gatling gun…When she can’t move around anymore just toss her in a cell or a grave, end of story.
Good Point! but long before cumulative damage renders her immobile, She has another consideration. Vane can barely pass for human now, [if you don’t look closely. Her freedom of action is severely restricted if she begins to look LESS human, and more like the undead “shell” of an Abomination that she already is. At some point, any further pursuit of Hunter will involve Long Range Weapons with a corresponding escalation in collateral damage.
It’s not so much that her condition has improved, she’s just as dead now as she was before she was shot. She’s just not playing the Trojan rabbit so that she could get dragged inside the fort. The mind boggles at why they think they need to drag her in though. She’s not going anywhere outside the fort either.
Roosevelt is amazing here.

The Corporal is now a corpse-man. And has been disincorporated by Vane’s larger scheme.
Corpsman! Harvey Corman! See what you started?

I think you are right. Something is missing. Last we saw Vane on the ground. Now she’s up and something seems to have happened in the interim.
Given their storage in a separate shack, one wonders if those barrels are gunpowder. That might give Vane a well-deserved sendoff.

But, but, we don’t want to end the story.
Not sure if the purple spirit can’t inhabit another body–and I bet they don’t want to find out!

“Never count a Human as dead until you see his body. And even then you can make a mistake.”

So now Vane is the monster in a horror movie, killing innocent people one by one.
“Now”? She’s been killing innocent people for quite a while.
