Y’know, I was kinda feeling a bit sorry for these soldiers, getting caught in the meatgrinder that is Vane and John’s relationship. But that… is a seriously crappy way to treat prisoners. Meatgrind away.
Both are unrepentant murderers who murdered for extremely petty reasons. Both cannot be trusted to not attack a jailer if allowed to move about freely.
Such persons would have been executed long before now in more enlightened justice systems in order to protect the public from them. Some criminals are just too dangerous to allow back into the public as they kill and rape again.
I see someone has seen the numbers on how many lives the folks the US Supreme Court spared the death penalty in the 1970s when it decided capital punishment was unconstitutional were taken by those who’d been on death row and suddenly were not.
I have a slight suspicion that Pvt Jailer is going to be quite sorry he left a puddle of water for the lady to make contact with. John Henry seems to associate with folks expressing a – unique set of talents – shall we say. I doubt the fort will withstand the combined onslaught of a fire bender, a (possible) water bender and an undead wraith with her steampunk steed. The CO is gonna have to write a lot of letters home this month.
I’m still wondering about John Henry’s game. Surely he could have gotten out of those handcuffs by now–melted ’em off or something. Maybe he puts them back on for the benefit of the jailers.
There seems to be a certain degree of suspicion, or sometimes resentment towards people with Hunter’s “talents”. I’m guessing he’s simply doing his best not to antagonize his current cellmate. He seems to need her for some reason…
“Almost time?” For what John Henry? What is this charade you and Vane are playing? RELEASE THE KRAKEN!

I mean, jail cells are a thing that exist.

That is, IF, the CO survives.
I surely hope he does. He seems to genuinely care for his men. Long live the Empire!

Agreed, but he’s after something as is Vane. Erin loves to keep us guessing. I’M STILL WONDERING WHAT HAPPENED TO THE POSSE! O.o 😉
