There’s something weird. I like both Hunter and Vane less and less as time goes on, but there’s something fascinating about the strip that keeps bringing me back. Charismatic evil, perhaps, like Darth Vader.
No they are not particularly likeable, but their story is still compelling- we don’t know all of what they are to each other, nor how much of what Vane does is driven by the purple demon inhabitant….and do we know that Hunter is free of one of his own? in any case, art and story are indeed remarkable!
Actually, that’s a good point, maybe neither of them are really the people we see in the flashbacks and they’re both just being driven by entities that have largely subsumed their identities in some fashion!
Yeah, I feel you. There are some comics I love because of the characters, but this one I read because of the wonderful art, and the masterful story telling, slowly unveiling the mystery. Sometimes I feel the violence and multiple deaths are too much for me, but I look forward to reading it as a whole some day. I think that then, the violence will be a part of something bigger and deeply satisfying.
One is not advised to steal from a psychopathic serial killer with a strong sadistic streak. For some reason this particular murder bothered me more than all those con artists, even the women, who had been, ahem, burned by Hunter before. Yeah, the guard was a thieving snot, but he, unlike others we’ve seen, doesn’t particularly condone murder.
Actually I feel no sympathy for private Big Nose. His smug, shit eating grin when he took Hunters watch and taunted him showed that he is or was an a-hole.
I agree completely. It’s no excuse to steal and be, well, pick a word. Especially something that holds great meaning. From a man who went to great lengths. Driven would describe Hunter. Yeah, Big Nose was dumb as hell.
Dumb, but brave and motivated to stand up to murderers. Hunter is at best fixated on Vane from love and not just lust and the will to dominate, but he’s a mass murderer.
Can’t say as I’ve seen anyone fried from the inside before, the flame-colored scream is a nice touch!
Welp. Hunter has no chill.
You don’t go taking a man’s personal belongings without expecting some kind of consequences.
I do believe things are about to get very heated here at Fort Fairbanks.

There’s no train wreck like a steam train wreck.

I think it’s the heart that Erin puts into the comic. That’s what keeps me coming back.
I knew it! 😀
Now that’s what I call heartburn! O_O
pepto bismol ain’t gonna fix that

And here i thought AZULA was brutal…….

And with a honker that size, he had a lot of snot! And a real booger, to boot!
