State of the Town Address
on March 21, 2011 and modified on March 30, 2011.
So I lost my color flatter a couple weeks back, which has slowed me down a bit. On a related note, I’ve sort of suspended She Said, Flatly on the grounds that it makes me sad and also, I suppose, because soon I’ll run out of them because I’ve done my own flats for much of what’s done on Book 2. Midweek Reminiscence got put on hold because frankly a lot of my other old NTO stuff would constitute story spoilers.
I’m not exactly done with the Book 2 cover, I don’t think, but I’m also not sure how much more work I want to do on it; the covers for books 1 and 2 were supposed to be sort of loosely painted and I think I’ve already strayed too far. They look kind of neat together though, regardless, I think.
Gosh, I love the second cover, actually! It’s got such a delicious ambience to it…
Glad to hear it!
Fire and Ice.
Dude, the lighting on that. All over the place. Mind = blown.
You know generally when someone tells me “your lighting is all over the place” it’s an actionable criticism but I’ll just choose to take this as … complimentary?.
As in, all of the lighting effects, not confined to one specific part of the page. I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying your work for over a decade, and you still find ways to surprise me.
I think he meant “all of the individual lighting effects are blowing my mind”, and for it to definitely be a compliment.
Yeah, I just can’t not give Jay a hard time. 😉
Love. Pure love.
They’re gorgeous!
Thank you kindly!
Oh man, you should really consider making posters of these. They are flatout awesome.
Posters, you say. Hmmm.
Posters would be bought. Wall scrolls would be even better (more durable, last longer).
I shall look into it then, sir.
