In the Interim
on October 1, 2012 and modified on October 1, 2012.
As I mentioned in the last State of the Town, a short hiatus of indeterminate length is pretty inevitable post-Chapter 4 while I get the big book and all its extras collected and print ready, launch the Kickstarter, make the bonus items, and have this kid, but I’d still like to have some new stuff up on the site every week. On a sidenote, post-Kickstarter I’ll probably be putting together a new, better store, and it’s occurred to me a real, concrete bonus for Grubstakers/Goldstakers would be discounts in said store, so if you’ve taken a leap of faith and invested in that non-thing (thank you again!) there’s a little something extra to look forward to.
I’d love to read backstory on any of the characters, whether it was just character profiles in depth, or family trees, etc.
Since the character dossiers are a Grubstakers perk (and one I’ve failed to update for quite awhile, at that) I’d feel a bit of a snake putting them out front. 😀
Short stories!
I know one of the other webcomics I read (Skin Deep) when it has a hiatus, they answer reader questions and do related sketches. It might not be appropriate here as there is a lot of mystery around, but it was very entertaining and you hardly noticed that you were waiting for the next chapter 🙂
This is an argument neither for nor against this suggestions but as an aside I’m happy to answer reader questions anytime, on here, on Twitter, or on my 100% disused Formspring.
have your kid, gal. I’ll certainly still be around (as will the vast majority of your readers/fans), & very happy to wait in the interim while you take care of much more important things.
May I have a small D&D story interim? With airships and lightning rails and all steampunkish and Eberronish? I would L O V E to see this art put to use in a D&D story !!
the last short story was awesome. I am fully confidant in your ability to make something equally awesome w/ a slightly less elaborate art style (I’ve seen many of my favorite artists do some of their best stuff with such constraints). This is like saying “welll… I don’t have time to make a cheesecake for you guys. It looks like you’ll just have to eat pie.”
