Oh dear. He really should think things through before saying them. Because, this demon thing is just like ‘Normally I have to give them thirty years of absolute power or something. This dude only wants a pen. Bargain!’
I agree on the voodoo demon design, and I love the perfect black-and-white coloring with absolutely no shadow or grey, it truly lends to the supernatural feel of him. Kinda hoping that this demon or whatever decides to give Mr. Author a break, give him something good in addition to the pen. Or maybe take a bit less. Sounds like the usual thing would be to grant a pen, but take the muse.
Look, the most important thing is the family unit! If you miss a month of updates to care for you new son, do that. your fans would rather that than risk a life.
Came here from “A Redtail’s Dream”, because Minna recommended your comic. I’m glad she did, ’cause it’s nothing short of wonderful. And I don’t mean only NTO, but the “intermissions” too.
Thanks for such a beautiful work. Keep being awesome 🙂
For some reason, though, this here page’s image doesn’t show. And it’s the only one to do so. Wonder what’s with that, and a bit sad since I would have very much liked to see the appearance of this new entity.
I’ve been reading the comic for a while now, in its entirety, and I just wanted to say how wonderful it is…and most especially this little side-story. The content is brilliant, and the minimalist approach to the art is really, really cool…I’d totally read an entire series like this. Kudos.

Wow the deamon looks really good (and kinda weird)!
This is why I don’t ever, ever say stuff like, “my soul for cake!” Because, who knows who’s actually listening? Ditto ouiji boards and crap.
-Very- cool design on the demon

That demon design is really great!
He seems legit, and quite helpful.
Big mistake telling that thingy you wanted to trade your soul for a pen! What happens when you run out of paper? What are y’gonna trade for then?
Something tells me, that after losing his soul, he’ll lose his talent too.
Or maybe the opposite? He suddenly gets popular.
AAAAHH!! I was expecting someone else, but this is way better! Ditto on what’s been said about the demon’s design and coloring.
Did it arise out of the Author’s shadow? 😮
Oh man what a freaken cool demon! This guy is doomed!

I feel the lack of sun, and I can do something about it. So please, do take care of your wee one, yourself, and your partner. Happy New Year to all!!!
Ooooh! Yay! A yummy new comic to read!!! I’m so excited I came across this site!!! It’s so BEAUTIFUL!
