a yep, demons are very serious about collecting their debts, and this man was too smart for his own good,so he thought he could outsmart someone whose been in the soul buying business for hundreds times longer than he’s been alive
OKAY…whew! There are arrows ‘n stuff showing you where to go. It’ll be tough, but at least he thought that through. Woulda driven me crazy, starting in the middle of the wall like he did. I know you’re crazy man, but at least bleed yourself to death intelligently!
Heh, not too bright on his part. Guess he didn’t comprehend that he was essentially writing the story in his own blood. The body can only loose soo much before you die. 😛
I think he was revising at this point. You can see all the scratches out and arrows pointing all over the place. Either way, this guy is obviously deranged so it’s fair to say he’s not thinking logically at the moment.
After reading this chapter, the only thing I can think now is, “If this was a lovecraftian story, he would’ve had a fourth wish for unlimited reams of paper and it would be fulfilled by having his skin become coarse in texture and able to be ripped from his body, in addition to growing back when taken from his body.”
Strange, isn’t it?
Anyway, I guess there’s going to be some form of ironic punishment relating to writing waiting for him in whatever analogue of hell exists in this crazy, crazy cyborg-horse world.
Maybe the demon will feel sorry for him and give him his soul back… A soul this easy has to be cheap, like government cheese, and who really wants that?
Getting a soul easy and cheap is what most demons live for i’m sure . and as to feeling sorry? doubtful as best . I’m fairly sure the demon will revel in this and use the ease and minor cost to get his soul as a way to toment his soul later.
Just caught up from the archives. Love the main story thread, absolutely ADORE the art and I’m enjoying this “hiatus” story, even though I thought about skipping it. Glad I didn’t now. Oh, and I never comment on Webcomics but I felt I just had to add my voice to the others here lauding your immense talent. Only problem is now I have to wait for an update! 🙁
Hmmm. What if this isn’t his story at all (in a manner of speaking), but just the preface to her story… Marvelously done and very, very well illustrated.
Is that his muse or just death?
i think it just his body wiping the blood off the wall.
And I TOLD YOU SO! bleed to death!
And down he goes.
How did he write on the ceiling? I wonder if someone will be able to interpret his last story.
Is that the deal maker forming out of his shadow?

Lighting effects in panels 5-6… wow!
thus a local legend is born, people will speak of the house with the writting on the walls and the bizzare author who died for his art!
I thought it was ink smear in the last panel. On a second look, I think it’s a shadow aka the Deal maker aka HIS DOOOOM.
All those who said that his demise is blood loss gets a cookie
I saw the writing on the wall. Ironic that he couldn’t.
*rimshot*
It’s a devil of a story.
Even if a lot of people saw this coming, it was still beautiful seeing it come to pass.
Yep. Just because a story is predictable doesn’t mean it’s going to be a bad story. Much of it is about portrayal- the author did well here.
I think that’s his soul or what’s left of it, the shadow of his soul? and he’s down for the count…………..
Now, imagine if this was only the beginning of his story…
I’m crossing my fingers so hard right now. 😮
Either way, though, can’t wait to see how it ends.

and the punchline is the landlord comes in after and paints over it all….
Oh, that just made me laugh so hard I woke up my boyfriend and the dogs…
Hmm… this is nitpickety (sorry!) but why did he write on the ceiling before filling up all the walls?
I think he was revising at this point. You can see all the scratches out and arrows pointing all over the place. Either way, this guy is obviously deranged so it’s fair to say he’s not thinking logically at the moment.
Ah, yes, revising is a good explanation. Thanks!

oh, no rampage…
and the moral of this story is that pens are for visual art, pencils are for writtimg, oh and don’t sell your soul to demons, even in shares
He was bleeding so slowly while writing, he would have fainted long before he could have bled to death. Fun concept though.
How do you know that isn’t what just happened? Given how “nicely” he fell, it looks more like fainting than death.
he shouldn’t have been that passionate for his art

Yeah, sorry about that last bit … and very much obliged for the kind words.
