I am guessing, “found dead in his home, blood gone, every surface of his home covered and covered again in writing, the repeated uses rendering it illegible.”
Ever read Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series? Endless inspiration and a compulsion to write is one of the meanest and nastiest curses the Lord of Dreaming could bestow.
GAAAH at least start at a place that makes sense! Why the middle of the wall? Perhaps it’s the bloodloss. He’ll never be able to figure out what order they do in at this rate!
…then again, perhaps yelling at a character with glowing eyes, ink blood, and pen fingers isn’t really the start of a sane action either.
Well, I admit I am impressed he can write on a wall that well; with what is essentially a finger tip.
Though I think it is pretty clear he is going to kill himself by morning via bloodloss. I expect the store owner to show up or something at the end. Guess she lost a customer, hope she got a good price or the summoning charm.
Though Hunter showing up would be cool, perhaps remark on dealing with magic is best left to those with the smarts for it. Hunter I could see getting the better of that demon in a deal.
This may be the best ‘hiatus’ I have ever read in webcomics.
There is a thin line between creative genius and insanity! He will be found dead the next morning and thus a legend is born. I can see it now, a tour guide points to the house of Genevieve!
Extra horror points if the contract magic dissolves on his death. Leaving him dead of blood loss with no visible wounds, and the final Genevieve novel written all over the house in blood.
I’m not British, but I feel chuffed that this is working out as I thought it might, at least to this point. I am equally sure our author can still surprise us.
I was going along w/ the bloodloss angle myself… but then i saw that smile and realized he’s sold the entire of his soul to the devil. Guys, eventually he’s gonna run out of wall. There’s a whole town to be had, and vellum is made out of skin.
Oh, I just had another evil thought–what if the ink fades more as he gets weaker–he hasn’t eaten or drunk anything after all. Also, what assurance does he have that the story won’t just disappear along with him, much less him live to share it?
Gotta write it down while you still remember it, huh?
Pass out cookies for the people who guess that he’d run out of paper. The story comes full circle. Only thing left is to see what consequences result.
I did just make snickerdoodles.

I vote for that.
…
I’m a writer, and even I’M not that crazy! XD

He’s becoming more and more sinister and, evil almost. Especially panel 5 and 8.

Thank you very kindly!
Seconded. The hiatus is excellent, and I am amazed at the quality considering it’s essentially “off” time.

This whole thing is so good. Watching it unfold makes me feel like The Author in the last panel. 😈
Delicious shadenfreude!

oops, left out another thought: since when does he have to write on only one side of the paper?? Can’t he flip the sheets and keep going there first?
You can’t flip the page over lest you smudge the ink. (unless you absorb the excess with sand.)

Hah! Didn’t even think of that. Well considered.

the demon did say a potentially endless supply of ink didn’t he?
“Potentially” being the key word here 🙂
