That depends entirely upon what you’re getting out of the daemon’s deal. a lamp or pen-fingers? bad. Free internet and a computer? Good! Indomitable willpower and reality-warping sorcery? probably should have gone with that, in hindsight…
Yeah, what he really needs to sell his soul for is “circumstances which would allow me to write without worry of running out ink, light, paper, or other trivialities.” Maybe he’d just get transported to the modern world with a computer and internet access.
the soul of an imaginary woman for an imaginary man? Wait, do imaginary people have souls? Or do the writers give bits of their own soul to breath a bit of life into their creation…. Then again madness is not unknown among creative types, imaginary or otherwise.
Wonder if the pen fingered author is called Kim Newman/Jack Yoevil(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Newman). As said author has written about a character called Genevieve in 3 separate series of books (the excellent Anno Dracula series, and the similarly brilliant Warhammer Genevieve series including Drachenfels, Beast in Velvet and Silver Nails and in his Diogenes club books which I’ve yet to read). As a writer of alternative history style fiction/horror he’d fit with the theme.
Something tells me this is a really bad idea.
So, who has yet to see where this is going?
I got one thing to say.

hot damn that thing is creepy
This fellow really needs to find a different turn of phrase for wishing he had something…
This is like a sinister version of A Christmas Carol. perfect.
Nothing like buying a soul on the installment plan…
He’s applying his hyper-abundant imagination only to Genevieve, and it’s gonna be whopping him up side the head very shortly!
See? I told you dealing with demons is a baaaaad Idea!

augh, just realized I spelled it “daemon” again. Old warhammer habits die hard, I suppose.

Ooh, the beginning of a slippy slope…
Snaleking, believe me dealing with demons is bad Ral bad I know… oh dammit it’s found me again gotta run! cursed fiend you’ll never have my soul!
Dat pitiful eye in the last panel! Poor fool. 😐
Without a pen, he cannot write Gevenieve. Without a source of light, he can’t see to write.
His soul for an imaginary woman? I think he’s mad.
Let’s pray for him, shall we?
