Noticed straight away that he looks younger, but perhaps also thinner, scrawnier? Perhaps less hale, less hearty… is he burning up inside? Has our erstwhile performer done himself a damage in the magical way?
He seems entirely too Relaxed. I’m not Entirely Sure that “Big Leap” means he expects They will KILL each other. For Sure, “It’s over” – The Chase is Over, Not because She Caught Him, but because He’s Stopped Running.
Maybe I’m just reading in all the backstory, but to me panel four is the most impossibly complex facial expression ever: hopeful-despairing, almost-tearfully relieved, joylessly grinning… …imminent mutual immolation incoming?
What about Vane’s Expression? She seems relaxed as well. Kind’a “It is over. The Chase is Done.” It’s as if She’s actually let her Guard Down. BAD Idea!!
Just reread this from the beginning over the last couple of days. Things that made little sense because they were so stretched out now make perfect sense. I am now in awe of the detail in concept, composition, foreshadowing, and so much more. Erin, you’re brilliant.
“The Tumbling JHH” is the description of the JHH brand that names this ranch, where Hunter grew up. You know, the metal emblem that hung over the gate?
Oh dang. This was all so she could meet the folks?
… before taking the big leap, mind you.
He looks younger? Was all that work to “turn back the clock” for both himself and Vane?
Looks like the gray in his beard/hair is gone, too.
He lost it once before that I found, back last time he unmorphed from Coyote form, but apparently that was temporary.
Hunter looks younger than he did when he activated the magic circle. I wonder…
Just what would the Elixer of Life do to a Demon of Death?

What I meant to say was, Erin you genius artist you, I stand amazed.

Yes, you’re right, I see it now, yes!! Wait, what?
So what he did two pages ago.. it really was the Philosopher’s Stone?
He raised some ghosts.
Never raise more ghosts than you can put down.
Waiting for everyone chasing them.
The furnace in the diamond chest is still lit with Hunter’s magical fire!
Wait, wait, wait … “The Tumbling”?!? There are several ways that could go …

All that carnage for a stupid spell
