This is so visually spectacular! Panel 2’s the wrong shape for a desktop wallpaper, but I’m fantasizing about it anyway. So magical. Pun intended, but also not.
HAH! [Well you dropped enough hints.] Now in keeping with the Traditions of my Native Haunt, Napalm Luck, I called it, now I have to feed it. Looks like our Posse is finally assembled, with the necessary information to head off in the right direction.
Ah, so it was the professor they were hearing, and it appears he can control the wind? The gathering continues. the posse ever larger. Great work Erin. Hope all is well.
If you go back to the chapter he was introduced in, you can see he clearly has magic wind powers there. First on Broken Sky 22, and later when he accosts Hunter in the hidden downstairs area in 32 – 34.
This reminds me of an old American Western Tall Tale of a man named “Wind Wagon smith. It’s about a sea man who constructs a giant covered wagon with sails and he intends to sail it across the parries. But he encounters an twister in Kansas and he and lady luv are swept away up into the clouds and they claim he still up there!
It would seem the Professor is a Shade more then the “Scholar”/Dilettante Vane dismissed him as in Broken Sky. JHH may be unschooled in his Art,[something he is studiously trying to rectify,] but he is, literally “Built” for manipulating Fire. The Profesor IS an Achademic, and his Opposite Number. He has Deep knowledge of his Craft, but despite an impressive showing, in Broken Sky, against John AND Vane, he is not a Fighter. John’s Element is Fire, Vanes Steam[Fire AND Water.] Both consider a wielder of Air, however skilled,to be Weak. That is a Mistake. A Man who can Summon, Bind, and command a Personal Air Elemental, [Dust Devil,] is not to be trifled with.
Yep, nice bit of work. But, seems to me (starts rolling a dog leg out of pouch of questionable quality) that the good perfesser is a might winded you say. (strikes lucifer and lights the dog leg) yep, he blew into town like a travelin’ show but. Seems that took a bit out of his sails. Okay, okay I’m going. Stop throwing the rotten vegetables at me!
Them jokes went right over my head, blew right past me, they’re gone like Dust in the Wind …. all we are is dust in the wind!!! Actually, I really liked them.
awesome work as usual!! You never cease to astound me@!

This makes it worth all the weeks we have waited for this installment!

Don’t forget hurricanes and F-6 and greater tornado’s. The wind is a powerful force that stands on it’s own.
Best use of bloomers (besides preventing death by freezing, but that’s so mundane) EVER!

Professor breezes into town like he owns it.
