Memory-Vane looks angry/unhappily-surprised. It can’t only be the flowers. Any guesses as to why? Does she object to Hunter meeting with Madame Boudreaux?
I think Vane thinks he’s cheating on her with Bordeaux, but I can’t be sure. There was a flashback where Vane heard something while she was sick with the fever, but I can’t remember where it was to check.
She needn’t have worried. His only interest was in hew was her necklace. I doub’t even J.H.H. is enough of a bastard to tell her the name of a woman he was cheating.with. His genuine love for Vane is his One Good Thing.
So it occurs to me. His spine acts as a magical lightning rod, drawing in arcane energies and allowing him to use magic or so it is implied. Is there a way to ground out the energy or redirect it away from him to remove his casting?
Also side note, when vane came back from the dead she found madam bordeaux dead in her lab, presumably sacrificed by hunter to bring vane back, and it was only after this discovery that her flame themed poltergeist managed to regain physical form. Is it possible that the demon inside vane is bordeaux, wreaking vengeance cause hunter killed her?
That’s eminently plausible … Thank you. Also, if John Henry hunter’s spine is a lightning rod … what about Diamonds the metallic horse? Perhaps he needs no earthly power source thanks to his eldritch attraction.
her back!

Vane seriously needs a new shirt. And yes her back looks a mess. It seems she does heal though;- the bullet hole in her forehead is now gone.
I don’t think it’s gone, just hidden by her hair…..
She’s a Revenant, and a REMARKABLY tough one to boot, but she does accumulate damage
Yes I see it now, – or has the artist done a little editing since last I looked at these pictures.
