She’s a “Revenant” for want of a better term, she’s not actually “alive”, hence the bullet hole in the center of her forehead. She doesn’t HAVE to breathe.
Erin, I always enjoy how you draw your story. The detail you put into each page is truly a pleasure to look at. In today’s page Vane is up to something, but not very clear at this point. What the hell is she after?
It seems to me that the more she gets “killed” the more severe she looks, the less human. As though the demon or spirit is sharpening her bones from the inside….making her more and more eerie. I do agree, the details are staggering and what she’s doing letting herself out through the lock on the grate-I guess we’ll see!
Karyl I think you’re right. I wasn’t sure of the light above her head, as to what it is. Now I see it’s the opening to the well where the troopers are getting water from. Good eye. But that only leaves me with more questions. If Vane is indeed demon possessed, and is an “undead”, why doesn’t she just walk out the front gate, or whatever?
Man, this page is gorgeous. The water, the light effects, the shadows… everything.
She only breaths when she has to speak, doesn’t she?

Last panel, wonder what she’s got in her mouth? A lock pick?
I suspect that Vane isn’t thrilled to be losing ever more flesh, and thus both functionality and her ability to pass as a living human.
Hmm, food for thought Honzinator.
Vanessa probably looking at that lock thinking “Great! I need this like a hole in the head”
“Vane” stupid Autocomplete
