That’s correct. The plasma horse is (formerly?) Hunter’s undead fire horse, possibly named Outlaw, who he killed and resurrected starting here. You can see Hunter calling Outlaw, and Outlaw being taken over by the Vane-entity, here.
I found this page only last week, through a link in another webcomic. I’ve read the whole story and now I’m looking forward to it. I also noticed the evolution of the drawing from the beginning. Mr. Hunter had a devilish-looking face in the first pictures. He is much more human now, perhaps for the hope of saving his wife.
The demoness is shooting at him. Looks like our antihero is shooting back.
Nope. I’m wrong. Looks like he shot at her twice.
It’s frustrating to be so totally wrong about where this has been heading for the past couple of months, yet still gratifying at the same time.
Well said Teh.
And much pyrotechnics will insue. o.O
Diamonds is BIG. I thought it was just a perspective thing in the previous strip, but the comparison with the plasma horse leaves no doubts.
Also, the design of the plasma demon seems to be constantly shifting. I wonder if that’s relevant.
My interpretation was plasma horse fell apart, cracks forming in frame 2, and demoness is left in #3 after the shell of horse becomes dust/smoke.
I see one shot (panel 3) and one fire-propelled footwear (panel 4/5). The first was a projectile of fire, the second, a projectile of beefcake.
preceded by some eldritch shielding.
Nasty burning feet, JHH. Try some Gold Bond Medicated Powder!
I might be wrong, but I’m seeing two distinct fights – while Diamonds is fighting plasma horse, JHH is going after the Entity.
