I think I get why Vane keeps trying to ghost Hunter………….. I think she WANTS to die, problem is, it’s HIS power that’s keeping her “alive”….. Long as he’s still breathing, she’s basically immortal……. Girl just wants to be free from the undead hell she’s in right now…….They can do whatever they want to her, it won’t help, the real problem is wearing the bandages
I was looking for the best trope, Villain Ball is probably the closest, but Vane isn’t that silly. My guess is it may be something like Simon Phoenix’ inability to kill Raymond Cocteau related to the resurrection curse. However, did find NTO’s tvtropes page. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Webcomic/NextTownOver
“Hunter is a reckless thief with little concern for collateral damage or human lives and apparently was a serial killer targeting prostitutes in the past.”
Hunter, I’ll be the first to admit you look stunning in white, but you gotta stop wearing it. Unless you’ve got the mother of all hydrogen peroxide stashes.
Hmm….what is Hunter thinking , what is he going to do, how will I wait for the next page?
You ever see that cartoon of Daffy running around crazy?
Man this guy recovers fast. Meh, just a flesh wound. Ah, any script that goes with this page. 😉
He’s like a tick. Nothing shuts him down for long.
@jsfury Blood magic of the priest did the job well. Also Hunter literally has a metal spine 😀
Master of deceit, huh?
The one they mean to purge from the earth appears to be the one they’re helping…

This has been my basic take on Vane all along–but she might also want to prevent Hunter from expanding his abilities.
It has been said before, but Vane has had many chances to kill Hunter by now, and she has always blown them. There must be something else at play.

I think this trope contributor went a little wild with a conversation from book 5. I won’t confirm or deny anything further.
One of the tropes mentions that
“Hunter is a reckless thief with little concern for collateral damage or human lives and apparently was a serial killer targeting prostitutes in the past.”
Have I missed something?
Dchil and Ro’Wan are right … they speak truth.
How ineffably sad.
