As soon as I saw Vane, then the young lady dash to meet Hunter, I instantly got the “Ten Cent Pistol” playing in my head. I’ve really had to reconsider a lot of ideas I had about the characters when this started almost five years ago.
Good job Erin, that takes real talent to do, because looking back with hindsight, a lot of things about them are now so obvious that wasn’t at the time.
So Vane is lurking yet again, and it would seem she’s either guessed where Hunter will go to, or he is drawn to her yet again. I wonder if they will ever just have a conversation?? and alas, Miss Fairfax, we didn’t know you well!
Shaded eyes (black) with the reflected tip of his burning cigarette (orange) is my take. But the effect of glowing, evil eyes could hardly be an accident. The details in the art and the tone Erin is able to set without writing a word is remarkable (and unfailingly gorgeous)!
I’m actually fearful that young Miss Fairfax may suffer the consequences of Vane Black being nearby
You keep a good level of suspense here
Oh, and i’m relatively new here. how can i change my avatar?

Thanks Erin. Given that case, i’ll leave it at that, i don’t mind much which avatar i get.
I’ll keep on reading, the story has unfolded wonderfully.

Fairfax & Hunter, sitting in a tree…
It’s too bad for miss Fairfax. The phrase “collateral damage” has not been invented. Meh, Vane wouldn’t care much anyway it seems.

Am I mistaken or does he have black sclera and orange pupils?
it may just be the light of his cigarette in the dark.
