Great facial expression in that last panel. Those eyes say a lot about Hunter’s past and perhaps even why fire has been a constant theme in all of this…
Whatever else he may be, for me he is creepy-mustache-and-red-eyes man. Seriously, that thing is hanging off of his lip like… like a dangling snuffaluffagus turd.
Fun fact: Famous singer Hank Williams was born Hiram King Williams.
1st panel, rain appears to be coming from behind Faraday. 2nd, 3rd and 4th panels, behind Hunter. 5th panel, behind Faraday and, in the last two panels, the rain seems to be coming from behind both guys, but they’re facing each other.
Sorry Erin. When facing characters both have rainfall hitting their back (in different panels) then it can’t be viewer perspective; however, shifting and swirling will cause that effect and is a logical occurrence in the setting of NTO.
Assume Faraday is standing dead north: the rain is moving northeast. There is some missing splashing, I’ll grant you, and it’s generally an imperfect rendering; I can only spend so long on each page with an infant in my arm. Do you want your money back? 😉
Doc’s face looks as ugly as mine, that rash… he has the fever as well, doesn’t he?
Also, I didn’t really paid attention to it before I’ve read comments, but the way rain’s direction is constant from any point of view is a nice touch, I agree.
I really have to hand it to you, The composition of your panels is immpressive! The changing view points and the facial expressions are well done. I bow at your feet!
Violet fever! Oh gosh, everything is about to make so much sense…
So glad to have you back, Erin! If there were a saloon I’d buy a round to celebrate the return of our regularly scheduled, incredibly gorgeous programming.

Thank you kindly!
That is SOME asscrack hair.
I Know it is “just” a scar, but I keep seeing a tail!
In the fifth panel… Is that a scar, right at the base of Hunters spine? It almost looks like he used to have a tail.
The wound has moved.

No.
It’s a spine-length scar. We saw it on the back of his neck too.
That’s a different wound, buddy.
You know what I love about this comic? Both characters can be/are antagonist and protagonist. They are in the perfect gray zone.
Mr. Faraday, not Doctor. He is a bit hesitant name himself physician wonder what he actually is?
Great expression from Hunter in panel four.
The rain is excellent.

There must be a wind that is shifting directions fairly often. That’s the only thing I can think of that would change the slant of the rainfall.
… not the changing relative position of the viewer?

Oh hey, maybe THAT’S what killed Vane… or at least set things in motion. 🙁

Hrm.. a brief trip through Google seemed to point to Violet fever not being real… Or is it a type of hemorrhagic fever (the local version of Ebola)?
Thanks so much, Mag!
And re: violet fever’s realness … it is in fact not real, no; another piece of NTO’s fantasy setting.
Very cool. I love the fact that I had to ask!
“Thanks, mister, but I’m aware.” 😀
