Oh Diamond in the rough. Will Vane be able to bring you back again?
Erin, anytime you need to take some personal time for a weekend or two I don’t think any of your readers would find that objectionable – disappointed that no NTO for a weekend (or two). I received my Kickstarter prizes and am quite pleased. For my own personal reasons I had stopped reading for a bit and just caught up. I had to pause after May 4th and I caught up Oct. 11th so I waited a day to say “Thank you.”
I’m glad to see that Flint is apparently too genre-saavy to share his employer and Eli’s obvious deathwish.
Also this is at least the third time Diamonds has been gravely injured and Hunter hasn’t put him out of his misery. Granted, he doesn’t have much to work with here and is running for his life, but based on what he said to Miz Black at the end of Sun Prarie and just walking away post explosion without killing Diamonds himself then, so I have to wonder what his deal with “his” horses is, and whether Diamonds had anything to do with his (broken?) spine and whether Miz Black might not still have some inkling of humanity left in connection to the horse.
On another note, the water/blood in the first panel is especially gorgeous.
he’s collecting things. he can’t face her, i don’t think, without whatever it is he’s collecting; he stole a ruby necklace, and got shot while going out of his way, for a sunflower. that and his pocket watch is inseparable from him.
me thinks he brought her back for a reason… he’s just leading her there.
So Hunter can summon his fiery black stallion at will? That’s interesting. And it’s looking like Lee and Elie are going to be coming into something very uncomfortable for them soon. Will Vane be merciful and put Diamond out of his suffering? Will Flint come down from the hill to help Vane? Stay tuned to this beautifully illustrated story. (Insert organ music here.)
You know diamonds sure has taken a lot of abuse! I don’t know if Vane can resurect him this time! This injury is more than just a broken legs or burns. as for flint I think he has mor sense than the other two.

Looks like Hunter is on the run again. I’m really starting to wonder when he’s gonna take a stand and deal with all the crap he’s leaving in his wake.

who chases a man on a burning horse?
AHH THERE IS HORSE ON FIRE UNDER ME WHERE DID THAT COME FROM
“…sorry, bucko.”
Whiskey Bend page 12 much?!?
also, i dig how hunter’s been looking really pale ever since that grappling hook wound.
It CANNOT smell good to stand in a puddle of hot water and horse blood. 😕
Also can’t imagine the Doc’ll be too willing to help with Diamonds after what Vane’s done.

Considering all the abuse poor Diamonds is going through, I think the undead hell-horse got the better end of the deal.
Poor Diamond! It can’t be easy, OR painless, to carry around all that “gear” on his body. Where it joins has GOT to hurt. Constantly.
Maybe he jumped in front of the bullet not to save Hunter’s life, but to finally end his own pain. ?
