Again Erin, incredible art work. Is there a animated motion picture in the works? NO?!? Well there should be. Panel five, Lee Van Cleef! Oh b-t-w, just as a point of reference. When looking through binoculars you will only see one circle. If you’re see two, your eyes are really spread wide apart. 😉
And of course you’re right about the binoculars but I wanted it to be instantly recognizable as Lee’s perspective & it’s a pretty common movie/comics trope.
I’ve seen a lot of comics in the rain, and this one made me feel colder and wetter than most. I realized, looking closely, that you achieved this with the water dripping off dusters, hats, saddles, etc. AND I can HEAR the rain hitting things because of those little vapor explosions you’ve judiciously placed here and there, as well. And the out of focus trees in the background… so much of the West (and your art up to this point) is crystal clear with the dry air that the atmospheric perspective stands out in this chapter. Lovely work, as always. It’s a great pleasure to see how much thinking goes into every frame, every detail.
Why I was hoping for some more interaction between Miz Black and the tall, skinny cowboy whose name escapes me at present (Flint? Was that it?). I don’t expect that to go anywhere, except maybe to an early grave for some people. Pity, that.
Now all that’s missing is a couple of mules and a disabled blacksmith and certain disaster/death/destruction.
Well, seeing the kinder, gentler side of Hunter was fun while it lasted. Looks like we’re about to get back to the usual death, doom and destruction. Not that that’s a bad thing…
You’re right, it could totally roll that way, considering that neither of them is particularly stable, further enforced by the fact that, when you look back, it’s actually Hunter who showed the most restraint vis-a-vis “collateral damage”.
Erin, this is amazing work, as usual. I really like the way you draw rain.
And now that Vane’s here as well, I believe the situation is about to transform into what us military types call a “Charlie Foxtrot”. Ah well. Peace was good while it lasted.
Good to be here again and I apologize for falling off the radar, especially since I really enjoy this comic and have been following it religiously. Also, the t-shirt is gorgeous, thank you again!
CYBORG HORSE. I’m torn on how to feel about the horse; on the one hand she treats that poor thing like a junker car, but on the other hand… cyborg horse.
kind of just started and i gotta know…did vane just kind of recruit those guys with her bad-assery, or are they now following her for a specific reason?
Hail, Hail, the gangs all here. Miz Black has arrived.
🙂
I notice a distinct lack of clockwork picture frames.
Sorry! Time was short this week, the layout didn’t really call for it too much, and there’s not a lot of machinations going on … yet!

Ha. Thanks so much js!

Oh my; thank you so much!
Can I say I must echo ARNLY7?? cause that’s all I can do!
Thank you kindly, Karyl!

Flint is right!
FLINT: Hello again Miz’ Black. Glad your here.
With my share of the reward money I can get that piece of pasture land I’ve had my eye on.
Ha! 😀

I think this time it will be Hunter that looks like the good guy, protecting the hospital/tavern, and Vane looking like the crazy, callous individual.
You’re right, it could totally roll that way, considering that neither of them is particularly stable, further enforced by the fact that, when you look back, it’s actually Hunter who showed the most restraint vis-a-vis “collateral damage”.
I dunno — he burned down two places… ‘Course, fire isn’t what you’d call easy to control indoors, but I’m not sure that’s really restrained.
Lee does not look to happy about Flint getting friendly with Vane, but Diamonds seems just fine with it.
She has those fancy souped-up guns with bullets that explode upon contact with water….and there’s enough water here to blow up the whole town. Hmm…
Aw snap, you’re right!
REALLY hoping the view through the window gives Vane pause. I’d hate for her to miss, here. 🙁

That is one very hard-working doc and he deserves recognition for it.
