I like the way the fire makes her eyes look.

Oh hey, are those lever-action pistols? I never noticed! Now I’ll always (inaccurately) picture Vane reloading them like the Terminator… xD

I think they may actually be highly-mechanized semi-autos, and the finger guard or whatever just looks lever-action. Did Erin ever clarify?

Yeah, the gun conversation has pretty much been had. A quick comments search turned up some of its iterations here (re: the rifle, but applicable) and here. In summary and in conclusion, Volcanic/Henry-style lever action once, but no more.

(Thanks for all your comments, BTW, Wazz 🙂 )

Reminds me of the “Mare’s Leg”, a carbine cut down to the point it could be holstered like a pistol – and cocked with the same kind of flip-spin you see the Terminator doing with that shotgun:

I feel kind of dumb for zeroing in on something so specific, but I really love the drawing on the barrels and buckets.

“Found the other one a piece downstream.”
“…a piece”? I’m unfamiliar with the expression. 🙁

“A piece” is an older western expression for “some distance.” It’s still used in some places. Where I live, we say “a ways,” as in, “you’re not going to want to that far– it’s quite a way(s) away.”

Oh my, panel 2 –> is Henry Fonda in Once upon a time in the West!!!!! 8D

Dunno if this reference was conscious or accidental, but anyway, I absolutely super love all the references you do to classical westerns
