The Baron will not be pleased ! ( If this is a typical mill town everything is likely owned by a single wealthy individual .) One would think Hunter would have a lot more people after him with the increase in the reward.

AHHHHHHHHHHH you listen to the Bastion soundtrack! I found it from one of my favorite musicians, adam warrock, a week ago. Bought the soundtrack, then the game, beat it 2 days ago. SO good. the last song, the pantheon kinda seems like it would fit in the comic, especially cause of the narrators voice.

Well, guess that scenario was evident.

Honestly you can all expect to be thoroughly unsurprised by this chapter.

Hunter does not know how to ‘lay low’. That’s not a criticism of your work, mind, I just love these characters. A little on the impulsive side.

After burning that beautiful whore house the whole town ought to be gunning for him. Although in the confusion they may not realize how the fire started.

It’s terrifying – but absolutely in character – that Hunter took the time re-dress himself. D:

Am I the only one who feels the slightest bit bad for him? I mean, sure, he’s got a bounty on his head and he may be a magnificent bastard, but when he went into this place, all he wanted was a bath….and to know if they had any red-heads. Ulterior motives aside, he wanted to relax, then some ladies of the world pull a revolver and a pistol, and he’s forced to forgo his bath in lieu of arson.

Mind was cloudy, it was two pistols.

For some reason, I thought one of them had a snub-nose revolver.

On an unrelated note, I love the “eye shadow” effect in the third panel.

Do her eyes always burn that brightly or only when he’s set something ablaze?

First of all, saw that coming. Honestly, what would you do when you have the power to burn stuff at your fingertips and some … “ladies” decided to make do with your gonads?

Secondly, the D&D version of my John Henry Hunter, went into a pleasure house only to be … “convinced” to marry a girl named Saffron after he decided to boil the water with a well-placed fireball, thus bringing down the place.

Alas ! Whatever is the original John Henry Hunter is doing, I can only attempt and scrape at his “bang!” coolness.

For those that saw “Serenity” (also named “Firefly”), Saffron is his take on emulating a very rich and complex character.

At least John Henry Hunter ain’t the total sociopath type..It he was, he wouldn’t have stop in the burning of the two painted ladies and the whorehouse alone, but would have taken to burning down alive every other person or painted lady he comes upon while walking down them stairs just for the whim of it. Off course burning down the whorehouse actually means the reward for his head increasing a bit more..Like the scene on panel four where one of the ladies in her nighties seems to be holding back a guy from either becoming a hero; getting killed or maybe the dude just haven’t yet paid her in full and is trying to abscond from paying her with the fire as a good excuse…whichever it is, it puts a certain perspective and a few speculative thoughts in the story. Very nice work.

For the amount of flames, I see a lack of running and screaming in panic.

It looks to me like the girls are fairly good at keeping a level head, for the most part. I do believe I even see one taking a bucket of (presumably) water up TO the fire. As mentioned before, it is the WILD west, and a workin’ girl’s gotta keep her head on straight if she plans to last out here.

It’s not like Ms. Black even needs to track him, isn’t it? All she has to do is follow the smoke plumes. It’s as good as a roadmap…

I fell into a burning ring of fire.
I went down, down, down and the flames went higher.
And it burns, burns, burns, the ring of fire.
    The ring of fire…

I really like the carved posts you put in this scene. I hope you will not mind if I recreate them in real life.

When I got here from A Redtail’s Dream I didn’t expect to be overwhelmed by your webcomic, but now I am honestly lost for words. I couldn’t describe the whole awesome-/loveli-/badassness I find anew in every single page. And your love for details!
Luckily everything flattering that could come to my mind has already been said, so I can stay flabbergasted for a little while longer :3
I need to take off my chapeau claque to you.

And I absolutely love this guy in the bottom right who has to hold his trousers to prevent them from falling ^^

I can just picture the Madame in the last panel trying calm down her employees by pleading “Girls, Girls” a la Mrs. Garrett.
