you have forgotten the 1st rule of filling temp character.. If you start to like them, they die.. it’s kind of rooting for red shirt wearing character in star trek.. it never ends well….
Well , so much for the local house of ill repute . The only thing that could save the place is the Madam coming out and offering a free stay. Maybe. These girls must have a private sideline going on . The Madam sounded like she expected him to be treated like any other wealthy criminal.
The story is so interesting for my because I have always had a love for villains. They intrigue me more than the heroes, though it seems our hero in this case is just as complex of a character herself. Still, I can’t help but fall in love with Hunter. He’s a fantastic character and always keep me guessing !
Interesting how a man with a talent for flame has such cold eyes! I am so looking forward to how everything plays out in this town. As soon as he sets something aflame, Vane will find him, I’m sure.
This is going to get messy….. Fire up the disco Inferno…… Burn baby Burn…….. On an odd note if your in the busness of hunting bounties one would think that you would try an size up or at least know well your target. Poor girls they are making a bad mistake, if they knew what they where up against they would have just shot first, too late….
Exactly. Normally it’s an Evil Overlord rule, but really, it applies to hunting bounties too, I’d say. Shoot first — both of them — and have the witty sayings after.
It is, and I debated leaving it in — I softened some of the language in Book 2 considerably. Those rewrites are kind of moot now, I guess, in light of leaving the f-bomb in here, but none of the rewrites of this line had the same impact.
Chalk it up to environment and respect. Everyone else we’ve seen him interact with, even if they’re not in the best of places was holding themselves in a less tawdry environment and with a sense of dignity. Or in the case of Vane, there’s some playful grudging respect.
This is a cathouse, these women are used to such language, so he relaxes his speech some. Happens all the time in real life. Situation changes the language.
I like it. The total lack of “fucks” before makes the one “fuck” much more meaningful. Besides, when a comic is saturated with profanity, it starts to look to me like the author is trying way too hard to be gritty
I don’t believe JHH was actually here for sex…every other time we’ve seen him interact with ladies he has been dashing, debonair, and dressed. I would not be surprised if he still adheres to his wedding vows.
I think John is actually here to Take A Bath, and the cursing is in reaction to his realization that because because of uncouth stupidity, he’s going to be denied even that basic pleasure.
Well can’t say I didn’t see that one comming… and probably the next panel full of HOT love making as well… yes Hell is has a special place for gals such as those two. Front raw sits with their names on it. Actually I must say… I’m getting more and more in favour for Mr. Hunter over our Heroine.
On a side note I didn’t think Your craftsmanship could get any better and yet again I seem to have misjudged You. Touche!
Pardon me, Ms. Squidbunny, but I was hoping you would tell us our Heroine’s name, even just her first name if the last is too spoilery, so the poor lass doesn’t have to remain nameless for any longer. Also, I cannot help but imagine ol’ firehands as sounding exactly like The Director of Project FREELANCER (insert short twangy guitar riff) from Red Vs. Blue. I doubt this is unhearable.
It was there, they all read it!
I knew those goofy gals were gonna try somethin’ like this. Tsk Tsk. *shakes head sadly*
Oops… I hope he will left them alive… and not too hurt. I was starting to get really interested by theses characteres.

Zee, that might be just what they are doing ๐
See girls, this is why we can’t have nice thins.
Even before reading, you see that the exploding/splattered wallpaper means, “Shit is about to happen yo. In a very major way.”
That really was a marvelous and masterful touch. So much of the design in this comic is not where you’re looking, but what’s behind it.
It caught me the same way. Excellence.
Now’ll I’ll just have to spend the next week biting my lip. It’s ON!

Flame On!
Two guns at point-blank range?
Only two guns at point-blank range?
Girls. Wrong choice. Another town is about to burn down.
Interesting how a man with a talent for flame has such cold eyes! I am so looking forward to how everything plays out in this town. As soon as he sets something aflame, Vane will find him, I’m sure.
Might be they were reacting to the ‘most of his victims were women’ line…
But makign a bad choice for good reasons is still a bad choice.
This is going to get messy…..
Fire up the disco Inferno……
Burn baby Burn……..

If you want to get the drop on a guy like him (and there really aren’t more “LIKE” him are there??) you better shoot first and talk later.

Is this the first “fuck” in NTO?

Well someones going to make some money building a new brothel.
No money for the gravedigger though.

Thank you very kindly.

Er, not a spoiler at all: her name’s been mentioned in the comic as well as in the archive & store synopses. It’s Vane Black.
Why is Gem’s arm stretched out like that in panel 3? Throwing away Hunter’s shoe?
Maybe for balance?
I KEEP THROWING MONEY AT MY I PAD. YET A GRAPHIC NOVEL DOES NOT APPEAR. I SHALL NOW CONTINUE THROWING MONEY AT THIS SCREEN.
Wait…did he just conjure that cigar out of nowhere?
So much wood; so little time. (No pun intended.)
‘John Hunter..” click click
How not to love such stylish, badass villain! I love this comic, and have to admit I have not found better one yet.
