Seems you didn’t notice that one of those burning flashbacks had him leaving a chapel. Just reading on through this for my first time and I had figure that some sorta wedding would be involved with that chapel and the firebrand here.
While this might be as a need for company, Hunter doesn’t seem stupid enough to let a couple average prostitutes take advantage of him; especially seeing as he used booze as a weapon earlier.
There’s something here he wants to accomplish beyond getting laid.
I hope that’s just shading on Gem in the last panel and not “tea stains”. Hmm. The wedding ring doesn’t really surprise me. I’m sure who he’s actually married to will though! I see Teddy bears! With wings! ( No, really. Look over Gem’s head at the wallpaper in the first panel !)
1) LOVE the tiny holes in the whore’s tights — so realistic 2) What a nightmare this must have been to color– such much red, so many patterns/textures, and yet my brain isn’t blinded. It works. 3) JHH is HOT 4) How is that hip bath going to be big enough for the three of them?!
Interesting, I see Hunter is in his way very sentimental. First the watch, now the wedding ring…
Also, Dogma’s right. I’m starting to question Hunter’s motives for being here myself. It could be that “Baron’s Crossing” is simply “the next town over” or maybe he’s after something specific.
And at the same time he seems oddly unconcerned about the prospect of Vane catching up to him. Sure, so far he’s survived pretty much everything she threw at him, but I still feel like he’s a tad too overconfident by “toying” with her rather than fighting at full capacity whenever they meet.
In response to WINGSOFWRATH, I’ve thought that as well, but now I’m beginning to wonder if he’s not just toying with her. Maybe he truly doesn’t want things to come to a full on bloodbath because of his sentimentality?
I bet it’s the sentimentality. If the only sustainable interaction he can have with Vane at this point is toying with her, I think he’ll take what he can get.
That’s not to say he doesn’t enjoy it, though! 😛
I’d say yes him and Vane were married a long time ago, it fits the flashbacks. As to toying with her yes, even in the flashbacks he’s been shown to be a rather sadistic person.
I don’t think Gem’s exclamation of surprise is about him being married. She’s bound to have seen plenty of married men. I think she’s just happy that there’s one more thing to (hopefully) steal from him.
you know, despite the fact that he is a horrible person, I would be all over him.
oh good I thought I was the only one ._.
Bad taste much?
I’m wondering if they’ll find a particularly nasty scar on his belly…wait a minute! Weddin’ ring?
Vane? Someone else? I love this series!

Innuendo in 3, 2, 1…! 83
Have we ever seen Hunter sloshed? Drunk witchcraft’s bad, mmmm’kay?

I think your right about the ” something specific.” It doesn’t seem like he’s just traveling randomly.

I think to be fair, so has she.
Alright. How much for the painting on the wall?
