Interesting. So fitar, Mr.Hunter seemed invincible, but now it seems like he is going to bleed to death. And just what’s in that necklace? By the way,the last two panels being shaped like that was a nice touch :D.
Inner most thoughts of Mr. John Henry Hunter, Fugitive Extraordinaire:
Panel 5: “Damn girl, she made me miss my cribbage appointment with the local madam…If it wasn’t for Vane’s damn obsession of putting pointy things into me everywhere she finds me, why I would have settled down and started business as a dentist or undertaker or something…But NOOOO! I have to become the most wanted men in the West and have a she bitch bounty hunter on my tail day-in-day out! Mom and Dad were right..there are gonna be shit days like this…Should have become a dentist…”
Can’t deny Few Dollars More is/was a big influence; I think I might actually like it better than TGTB&TU, even though that’s practically heresy to say. Eastwood is great in it but VanCleef really blows the doors off that middle movie.
This comic is getting better and better. Ithink it’s cool how it uses the images to tell the story with the occasional sprinkling of dialouge. It’s not something you see alot of.
I really do love your Comic! It is everything I’ve ever dreamed of: Western, Steampunk and a small bit of Magic! Very inspiring! I LOVE IT! I want to know how it goes on! (planning on making a RPG in a similar World – with bit more victorian influence^^)
I have a pocket watch that was a wedding gift from my wife, so I can understand an attachment to the object. Oh, and did you realise that a pocket watch with a hinged cover like that is called a hunter?
Given that the vest pocket contains two of JHH’s most important items (Mme. D’s locket and an oft consulted pocket watch[that likely contains a picture of Vane from happier days]), I really wonder what the piece of paper in his pocket has on it!
love the kind of details you have. been re-reading the whole comic carefully. the fact that you can see the scratch marks on the tree in the first panel from where he gouged it the previous page is just AAAAAHHH
Nice touch with the red-eye in the last panel. Really sells the pain he’s in.

*So far, I meant so far.(damn typos)

What is the orange thing in the bottom right corner?
a fruit
I would cry if Mr. Hunter would die *sob*
He must be waiting to be reborn.
When he opened the locket I could distinctly hear the music from “For a Few Dollars More”…

I wonder if the locket is in fact a pocket watch and it’s telling the time he has left before…………..
Good eye. It is in fact a pocket watch. Beyond that I can neither confirm nor deny. 🙂
That’s what I was thinking too.

A cumulative thank you for all your kind words! Glad you’re caught up — I hope you’ll stick around! 😀
I have no intintion of going anywhere. I can tell we’re only at the tip oh the iceberg.

Thank you kindly! 😀
Great comic, both story and art are wonderful!
Very much obliged! Thanks for reading!
The way he caresses that pocket watch say a lot. Very nice.
( I imagine its face would be highly skeletonized, in true NTO fashion. 😉 )
I’m hoping it’s a pic of Vane.

Given that face and body language, he’s not checking the time.
On the hero/villain debate: like most of humanity, they’re probably a bit of both.
Given that the vest pocket contains two of JHH’s most important items (Mme. D’s locket and an oft consulted pocket watch[that likely contains a picture of Vane from happier days]), I really wonder what the piece of paper in his pocket has on it!
Are my eyes going blurry from archive diving? Mr. Hunter looks sad, regretful.
“From where it all started, how did it come to this.”

[I’m catching up – love the comic, and…]
I wonder if the inspiration for the harpoon or whatever it is might have been Cuchullain’s gai bolg.
