Story direction idea: After being captured, Vane is brought to court to pay for all her damages from cart-stealing, hand-shooting, town-burning, and the like. It results in a multimillion dollar dollar settlement. Vane takes up the job of a traveling magician to pay off her debts, entertaining at children’s parties with her whimsical tricks!
You forgot the part where she’s teamed up with a magical wise-cracking magician’s rabbit voiced by none other than the famous Ray Romano! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ogodidontwanttoliveonthisplanetanymore
Just re-read to look for this guy again – didn’t even notice how he was there the whole time in town. Can you say if he’s Eli or Flint? She meets a lot of friendly westeners, hope she doesn’t screw this one over though haha.
Have been reading for a while, but first time commenting. I absolutely love both the storytelling and the art. (And I really miss horseback riding so it does make me a bit nostalgic reading this – you seem to understand them, how they’ll do anything for you as long as you ask the right way. Why did I ever think law school was a good idea!!)
You probably thought law school was a good idea because you were exposed to the astronomical cost of keeping horses. 😀
Thank you so much for the kind words — and, oh yeah: that’s Francis “Flint” Clinton offering her a lift. The dumpier ranchhand in the red is Eli Hicks.
Okay. Kick ass horse, it starts raining. and now they are going to chase him. If this was a movie I would sp hope they would put in the song “Thunderhorse” by Dethklok. I think it would fit perfectly. Don’t you agree?
I was actually doodling Diamonds a long time ago in PS and saved the WIP as “Thunderhorse” — does that count?
I actually was something of a fan of Metalocalypse — I say “was” because I haven’t seen the last season. There was that weird hiatus … thing … and I sort of lost track of it.
Oh good, because I was wondering the same thing. Left behind with a nasty broken leg, and broken mechanical bits he just barely had a chance to get used to… =(
Hell hath no fury like a demonic woman out to kill ya! Wonder how many towns gonna get devastated by our two protagonists before there is no more town left for them to devastate?!?

Yay Flint! He understands a good vengeance quest.

Took me a second to realise the camera turned in the second panel, not Vane
Yeah that’s kind of totally my fault. I almost broke the 180 rule there.
What about Diamond??
Rest assured, no one’s forgotten Diamonds.

Gorgeous, love the close-up!
Thanks, Mug!
Wait… where did the gap go?
Assuming I understand you right:
It’s a ways back. You can see it hinted at in panels 2, 3 & 4. I [thought I] implied a fair amount of distance covered in the previous page.
I for some reason want to say nice job on the second to last panel. Weird, but it has a lot of…feeling? power? in it.
I dunno why that’s weird but I’ll take it either way. Thanks!

I like overlaying the hands clasping with her mounting the horse at the end there, really clever.
Just cought up on reading. This is awesome, I loved the fire horse. o 3 o
Great subtlety in Vane’s expression in panel 3. Don’t think we’ve ever seen her pleasantly surprised. 🙂
On to the next town over?
I love how you show the rain just beginning to spot the clothes and horses.
Oh, and, Flint, stay away from her! She’s trouble!
Sleep and housework have suffered (more) since I found this comic.
