I wonder if old John Henry will do the practical thing and you know, throw Diamonds over the cliff so that he can get rid of Ms. Vane forever? Just a nasty thought, mind you. Merry Christmas everybody!
Vane really needs a more durable vehicle– like the batmobile. Heh heh, steam-powered batmobile… Anyway, I am continually surprised at how quickly these characters suffer reversals. Diamond was all set up to be a totally badass sidekick, but only a couple of pages after being tricked out, he’s badly injured again! Can’t wait to see what happens next.
So she has more than one expression! I was beginning to fear that she’s permanently locked on “selfish vengeance” face and hey, here we have anger and annoyance AND …well…. i think her expression in panel two is used exclusively by people falling down from somewhere :D. Oh, yes. And merry Christmas. I am slightly late, I know.
And so, after killing an innocent horse, our man in whitemakes someone else lose their hat. Is there no end to his depravity? Who can stop this villain? Tune in next week for…
Talk about harsh face plant… Or is it muzzle/snout plant? Awesome art as always. Can’t wait to see what happens next. That tree doesn’t look like it’ll hold her up very long… Being in the side of the cliff like it is.
Finally caught and this is AWESOME! Wish I had found it a year ago. It’s just made my “always vote” list at topwebcomic.com which is a very short list indeed. I’m now voting daily for only 7 comics out of probably 250 I check weekly. You have a wonderful drawing and narrative ability that I absolutely love.
Hunter really looked like he regretted hurting Diamonds, but dammit if he didn’t do it anyway. I can’t take much much of the horse mutilations though. Shoot some people, for goodness sake! (I know that sounds awful.)
Poor Diamonds, always getting the short end of the stick . . .
Also: grappling hook ftw
That last page was rough, but panel 2 takes the cake. 🙁
( Putting the focus on the grappling hook like that created a wonderful sense of tension, like the shot was a Hail Mary. )
That is the best grappling hook; EVAH!
Oh no — Diamonds’ real leg is broken too!
Merry Christmas with or without grappling hook!
Merry Christmas, Zonk (with grappling hook – why not!)
Back to the repair shop!

Merry Christmas, Jago!

So that’s why he brought his own horse down? Nothing to do with (blood/heat) magic, just needed a barrier at the (very) sharp turn?
Nicely done, and merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you, as well!

Thank you so much for all the kind words — and thanks for your support!
