Well, at least our erstwhile heroine is the reasonable sort. Bribe the guy first! if that does not work-Use your gun! I ain’t sure about that flashback though, the Blacksmith may well catch one if he doesn’t leave his shop pronto!
Good lord, what the bejesus happened between these two to make her into the wicked rider of the west? This latest flashback scene, I’m getting the creeps just like when I found out about Gilles de Rais.
The question isn’t so much who is Mr. Hunter, but what is he?
This is probably my favorite bit in Next Town Over so far. The look on Vane’s face when she leveled the gun at the blacksmith… holy crap, man, that’s intense. This is clearly the kind of woman I’d rather have watching my back than hunting me down XD
i dunno… i think i’d rather be watching her back then have her watching mine. that way i don’t have to worry about her shooting me in the back when i least expect it.
Well, I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it sure as heck wasn’t that! At least she tried the nice way first, this time…
I love that look-at-the-poker Rondo. I should try something like that with a foreground object breaking out of the panel (but I am too scared).
The framing for this page is so good, I love how the hot iron leads into the flashback.
all I can think is how Hunter and Mizz Black must have been one dynamite couple.

Hunters obviously a vile drunken, womanizing, wife-beating piece of crap with a silver tongue and fancy hat.
Stellar start on a country song.
Think it’s been done, “Goodbye Earl”
“What’sa matter Earl? Feelin’ a little sick?”

Erin, you are the Master of flashbacks! 🙂
Thank you so much!
I just found this tonight, and I can’t even remember how I got here. Just wanted to say that this is lovely and I’ll continue reading more tomorrow.
Also, is that Diamonds in the painting on the wall in the flashback? If so, then that man loves his horse.
Oh, now I remember…io9.
