This whole sequence is incredibly well done, but those last four panels really blow me away. The way in which they echo each other is both tense and terrifying.
You really did an incredible job. This may be my favourite page of the chapter so far.
Wow, the last four panels are intense. The flashbacks make me reconsider who’s good and who’s bad here. And it seems that Hunter wasn’t a smooth badass all the way, whoaaa.
And her hair wasn’t this red before she died I’d wager. I just re-read the archive and noticed that I missed ou on the first two pages. Where it looks like she is being reborn by means of corpse-inceneration.
I like how Diamonds is leaping out of panel 2. What power! Also, to counterbalance Tuco, I think his hat looks awesome in general, and I really like the way it connects them / feeds from his panel to hers. Interesting that you didn’t show more of his face there, not that we can’t discern exactly the sardonic smile he’s sporting from the bit you do…
Hmm — looks like this is a role reversal rather than a straight flashback? Now Hunter is giving Vane what he thinks is a Hobson’s choice (Blow up the dynamite and Diamonds gets it), but previously Vane (with bright blue eyes, rather than orange eyes) gives Hunter a Hobson’s choice? If so, very nice — and very interesting. 🙂
…and I just noticed that those are the same townsfolk that we see in panel one, page one of Lookback. Whatever she did to shock those folks, it didn’t stop them from showing love/respect at her “funeral”.
Discussion ¬
Man, I know this is a silly thing to point out because it’s so small, but I love the lettering on the crates.
My attention to detail’s gotta go somewhere.
Damn those eyes! Very revealing and frightening at the same time.
I often feel like I’m blowing the facial expressions so that’s always great to hear.
Oh no the facial expressions in this comic are awesome they tell the whole backstory 😀
I love the lighting on her face from below. gives me the shivers.
Glad you’re digging it. Thank you kindly.

Some things come with age & experience, I guess, badassery among them.
Her eye color changed. She is pale.
Hmmmm….

I do believe you may be on to something, sir.
Sweet pages!!!

Thank you kindly, Jeff.
I have a visual criticism. The way Hunter’s hat spills out of the panel is weird and confusing
Fair enough. Thanks for the feedback.

I just noticed the shocked looks of the audience behind her in the last panel. What on earth did she do?
