Seriously, the timing was exceptional! Thought he was heading for a tumble, but now I’m wondering about rope burns. Ugh…

It might be silly of me to focus on such a little detail, but I love the little trail the horse’s blood makes in the last panel. It adds a lot more to the page than you’d think for some reason.

I’m also blown away by the expressions here. Mmm mm. So good.

Oh, and the paneling. This might be my favourite page so far. Basically I could go on for about half an hour about how much I love all of these bits. God, you’re good.

I was pretty insecure about the paneling on this one, so that’s good news.

Kudos indeed on your use of panels. Breaking away from the classic squares and rectangles is dangerous. It can quickly become confusing in the wrong hands. “A real master knows when and how to break the rules.”
I am racing through the archive and will be spreading the word to my geek friends about NTO.

    “That was my FAVORITE horse!”

You know, I’m beginning to suspect you use actual gold to make this comic.

I think it might have more to do with the hole in his pristine white duster than with the horse.

I love this comic so far. πŸ™‚ Though, I must admit, I keep thinking… “Is she Harrowed?!”
    Points if that made sense.

Brainers don’t know ’bout the harrowed, the mannitous and dem Reckoners.
But yes, this could most certainly take place in the Weird West.

You know I had no prior knowledge of Deadlands; I looked into it after your comment. I’m not sure I should’ve gotten points if that’d made sense because then clearly I’dve been ripping off the Weird West. It is uncannily similar in a lot of ways. I’m a hack, as it happens!

          Well thanks much.

In any case if there’s something here for Deadlands fans to sink their teeth into I’m glad to oblige. The setting sounds awesome, but of course I’m partial, aren’t I. πŸ˜‰

To be honest I was pretty much convinced that you knew the setting ^^”

But well, anyways, as soon as I know more about the characters I think I’ll convert the to Deathland goodness πŸ˜‰

One of the greatest science-fiction writers said there are only 4 or 5 basic plots. It’s how well the creator uses them.
