Almost Break Time
on July 15, 2016
It’s that time again! Book 8 is nearing its end, after which I need awhile to regroup for mighty #9 … and start pulling together a Kickstarter for NTO Volume 2! As I did with Genevieve once upon a time, I aim to accomplish this running a less time-consuming interim comic. Genevieve was a full 24 pages though; this will probably (hopefully?) be an 8-12 page short. It occurred to me I could possibly run the early pages of the Patron-only Cutter & Ironwood, but I’ve ultimately decided to keep that reserved for Patrons for now. So, let me know!

Very hard to say, Genevieve was an amazing story for me almost purely for the twist at the end. But despite being the title character in one of my favourite short stories she is something of a blank slate so how it translates into further work entirely depends on what you have planned.
The Young John Henry Hunter had huge appeal, there feels like so much back story that would be great to know. I’d also be interested in something linking Golden Son with NTO (although I assume that is on the cards anyway).
Essentially though do the one that feels right for you, you’ve had pretty good instincts so far if you have a good feeling about a particular direction go with that and I’ll look forward to reading it.
Would Yong Vain be a possibility?
I mentioned this on Twitter; I didn’t make a Vane option for a number of reasons, but the overriding one is it would have won unequivocally because she is the clear reader favorite, and I don’t have any stories in mind for her right now that wouldn’t damage NTO’s slow reveal.
Oh. Thank you for letting me know. Thanks makes a lot of sense
Well, said, Because
! I would prefer Genevieve precisely because she is kind of a blank slate – time to let her write her own story, given that her Pygmalion is dead.
I love the two main characters, but a break from both of them is what I’d like.
I’m a week late for discussion on this Page, but what the heck.
That brand just wouldn’t go in real life. Don’t get me wrong, it’s cool and fitting, but every point of intersection in a brand is a potential “blotch”, where the heat damages more tissue than intended and spoils the design.
The fact that the center of that brand isn’t just an ugly triangular scar makes me think some kinda black magic were invoked by the brander
I once started a ranch… called it the Lazy-J-Double-X-Bar-M-Crazy-Y.
Had to close, none of the cattle survived the branding.
I would like to see a couple of things (but I’m willing to settle for one, if that’s all that’s being offered):
a) A social studies lesson on the world of NTO, with basic geography and history.
b) A high level explanation of how magic works in this world.
Looking for info to do a Deadlandsesque game in the NTO world.
